It was founded in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1945. Schunk has two main fields of activity. These are “Tool holding and workholding systems”, on the one hand, and “Automation” on the other. Within the tool holding and workholding systems, there are tool holders, lathe chucks, chuck jaws, fixed work piece connection systems, quick pallet changing systems, magnetic table, and lifts as well as special hydraulic expansion technology products comprised. Within automation, there are grippers, revolving modules, linear shafts, robot accessories, modular assembly technology, and modular robotics.
